Option A:

The globalization of trade and economics has made it easier for goods and services to travel across national borders. As we’ve seen in the movie and the reading free trade can often stand in opposition to “the war on drugs.” Are there any ways which you can think of that would allow a free movement of licit goods across national borders, but prevent the transit of illicit goods? Is it possible to maintain meaningful borders while at the same time promoting global free trade?

Option B:

Let’s pretend for a second that you are the US' newest drug tzar. Assuming you have the freedom to act in any way you chose with no political repercussions, how would you conduct America's war on drugs? Would you change focus to different issues, or would you hold the course of fighting the "source" of the problem? Or should we simply give up? If so, justify your answer to the American people.
